CHILDREN'S CALPOL: PARACETAMOL (CALPOL®) SUSPENSION

Overview

Paracetamol (Calpol®) is an alcohol-free suspension with Paracetamol that relieves mild to moderate fever and pain associated with:

  • Headache
  • Migraine
  • Muscle ache
  • Sore throat
  • Musculoskeletal pain
  • Fever and pain after Vaccination
  • Pain after dental procedure/tooth extraction
  • Toothache

Paracetamol (Calpol®) is suitable for children ages 0-12.

 

Active Ingredient

Paracetamol

 

Warnings & Precautions (see label for full information)

  • Do not take/give with any other product containing Paracetamol
  • To be taken/given orally every 4-6 hours.
  • Do not take/give more than 4 doses in any 24 hour period.
  • Do not take/give for more than 3 days without consulting your doctor.
  • Should not be used if any seals on the package are broken or if expiration date has been reached.
  • Do not exceed stated dose.
  • Maximum Daily Dosage: 60mg/kg presented in divided doses of 10-15 mg/kg throughout the 24 hour period.
  • If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol, or any other component of the formulation.
  • If child has been diagnosed with liver or kidney impairment, seek medical advice before giving the medication.
  • Paracetamol overdose can cause liver failure. Immediate medical management is required in the event of overdose even if symptoms of overdose are not present.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.
  • Before taking this medicine, make sure you consult with your doctor if you are taking any medication used to thin the blood.
  • Stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor immediately if you experience:
  • Allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching, sometimes with breathing problems or swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face.
  • A skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers
  • Breathing problems with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, and experience a similar reaction with this product.
  • You experience unexplained bruising or bleeding.
